The Glow Project

Hi all! Welcome to my new blog!

As most of you know, I am a makeup artist, specializing in weddings & special events – but I also have a passion for special effects makeup; there’s just something so satisfying about it!

As most of you also know, this past year has gifted me with so many amazing community partnerships. The connections I’ve made along the way are incredibly meaningful to me, and have sparked something inside of me. I was gifted with the talent and skill of an artist, and a strong passion for helping people in our community, and I truly believe that these gifts should be put to use for something meaningful. This, of course, is not to say that makeup isn’t meaningful, because without the skill-set that I have, I wouldn’t have the platform that I do, and I wouldn’t have had the privilege to work with all of the special people that I have.

After much thinking, second guessing, and a burning desire to do more, I came up with a project that can combine all of my passions.

It is my pleasure to introduce to you: The Glow Project!

The Glow Project is a blog series that will give a voice to women and non-binary folks who wish to share their experiences. Each month, we will have a guest author from a different community, who will have the opportunity to share their lived experiences – whether it involves violence, discrimination, day-to-day struggles, or anything else that they think should be talked about.

All of my guest authors will have the option to remain anonymous to protect themselves, while still having a platform to share their authentic selves with (ideally) the rest of the world.

My plans for The Glow Project are so much bigger than this blog, but we’re taking baby steps, people! Right now, what’s important is that people will have the opportunity to make their voices heard.

Stay tuned for September – I already have a guest author lined up, and I am so excited for her to share her knowledge and experiences with us.

PS - Stay tuned for an amazing community partnership!
